baptism
at clc, we know people have questions about baptism. why should i be baptized? i've already been baptized, do i have to do it again? does it matter if you're sprinkled or dunked? answers to these questions are found in the bible.
we believe that the bible clearly teaches us that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. it is an outward expression of an inward commitment to Christ. if you have made this commitment to Christ, then you are ready to be baptized. just like a bride and groom show others their love for one another by wearing wedding bands, your baptism is your opportunity to show others that you have accepted Christ and are now walking with Him.
baptism is a way of showing others that a person has entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ. it symbolizes what took place in his/her heart at the time of salvation. baptism is simply saying to the world "i'm following Jesus Christ and I want everyone to know it."
"this means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. the old life is gone; a new life has begun!" 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
